Art in Bloom at Cincinnati Art Museum, Cincinnati, OH / 2026


Art in Bloom is an event held by museums across the U.S. in which floral artists are selected to create a piece based on a randomly assigned artwork. This arrangement is inspired by A Pair of Covered Vases, created in 1877 by British manufacturer Minton and decorated by Frederick Alfred Rhead.

Text: Exploring my European and Chinese heritage through floral arranging led me to Ikebana. Each flower I selected represents a physical or symbolic element found in Rhead’s vases.

Materials: Queen Anne’s lace, delphinium, chrysanthemum, gladiolus, larkspur, oriental lily, wax flower, scabiosa, thistle, eucalyptus, plumosa, curly willow.
